A virtual exchange

A virtual exchange is always a good idea because students make a real use of English and they enjoy temselves very much getting in contact with students from other parts of the world.
Objectives:
  • to get in touch with a foreign student that your teacher provides you.
  • to learn about him / her and his/ her daily routines.
  • to use English in a real, meaningful context.
Task 1
The student has to make a video introducing himself/ herself using www.mailvu.com and send it to his/ her epal.

Task 2
In pairs they have to make a poster using www.postermywall.com about their school ans share it wit the epal.

Task 3
In groups of 4 they have to create a set of "speaking" images using www.fotobabble.com. Each of them have to focus on a different part of the village.

Task 4
Individually the students have to write a blog through blogger explaining their experience and what they've learnt with the exchange.

Video Resources

  • Voki. To practise descriptions. Students record the description of one of their classmates and the others have to listen to it and guess who the student described is.
  • Dub. Students put voice into some trailers to revise some grammar contents. So they will have "grammar in context".
  • Tellagami. Students create a video to tell stories.
